Kirstie and I had our first experience of a Designathon today. It was basically 7+ hours of being cooped up in a room and frantically busting out some work, which in our case was re-designing several Berkeley restaurants’ logos and menus. We picked Cafe Milano and got our inspiration from the Milan Coat of Arms, but now in hindsight we’re realizing that maybe it wasn’t the clearest of logos. It’s okay though! Twas a good experience and definitely a lot of fun brainstorming, working off of each others’ creative juice, getting to see other peoples’ work, and eating loads of junk food. By the end, though, we were so exhausted and had mushy brains and mushy legs from staring at computer screens and sitting for so long. I think Kirstie got up several times and just did Warrior 2 and Tree poses in the middle of all the designing. I should have joined her but was too busy enjoying the free donuts.
Anyways, here’s the logo that we created! And also, here’s to better luck next time!
